Angkor Wat Cambodia, The Morning Glory

Angkor Wat Cambodia, Good Morning!

It’s only 6am but many people from all around the world already had their morning coffee and are right there on spot, ready for the most extraordinary day in your life, where time stopped hundreds of years ago, where signs of customs, religion and hidden stories are deeply carved in those stone walls in a magically way that no one truly understands. Words can’t express the stunning beauty of this remain and history can’t deliver the life that once used to be celebrated here, so all we can do is admire the beauty and everything what it stands for.

Angkor Wat was dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu, which is unusual for the time of construction, when a king was ruling the civilization. It was shifted from Hindu to Buddhist sometime around the 13th century. The site suffered many years of unregulated tourism, all the way till 1992, when it made a Unesco World Heritage Site.

Remember to purchase the 3 days ticket for 40$, the 1 day ticket is 20$ but trust me you cant see all for only one day, so make sure you get that 3 days one.Our tuk-tuk driver picked us up from our hostel early in the morning. This has to be followed up by one small tip for all of you travellers; many of you don’t realise how close is Angkor Wat from Siem Reap, so I strongly suggest you rent a bicycle and avoid the tension of your driver who’s in hurry to finish your day and collect his dollars.

We spent the whole day wandering around the history and civilization that happened here, following the tourist guides to learn something more about the stories carved on the bricks, trying to imagine how it was like back then.

It was a journey of a lifetime.
We love Angkor Wat!
